Jenn Dimer, MA (she/her/hers)

Jenn Dimer is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) dedicated to working with youth, adults, and couples. Jenn values creating an authentic therapeutic relationship and creating space for vulnerability in treatment. Jenn believes that regardless of age, race, or gender identity, counseling can be a profound and meaningful experience for any person. Jenn strives to provide a judgment-free environment for her patients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Jenn believes that authenticity, humor, and trust are essential to the treatment process.

Jenn utilizes various evidenced-based approaches to care, such as person-centered, emotion-focused, attachment-based, mindfulness, acceptance and commitment ACT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), play, dialectical-behavioral (DBT), and cognitive-behavioral (CBT) techniques.

Jenn’s clinical interests include a variety of presenting issues, such as: ADHD, autism, executive functioning, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma, anxiety disorders, depression and other mood disorders, bipolar disorders, substance use, school and academic issues, life transitions, marital and relationship difficulties, stress management, self-esteem challenges, behavioral challenges, family conflict, grief, as well as social skills struggles.

Background

Jenn has previous clinical experience working in schools and private practice. Jenn has had experience with a wide range of presenting issues, ages, and backgrounds. Jenn earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree from Lewis University. Jenn earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree from Lewis University.

Jenn identifies as agnostic but is knowledgeable of Christianity and other religions. Jenn is a strong ally and has experience with LGBTQIA+ issues. Jenn is passionate about supporting neurodivergent people.

Jenn is a strong ally of racial justice, LGBTQIA+, and immuno-disorders communities. Jenn works from a body positivity and sex positive approach.
